Our Mission
|
|
The benefits of traditional
"trickle down" approach to economic development takes a long time
to reach the rural masses and in its wake produces a widening
income gap between the rich and the poor. Hence, the
outflow of people from the countryside to the cities. To
check this outflow of people and stem the increasing income
disparities, we are starting a parallel "bottom up" process of
development, beginning with providing basic civic amenities of
water, sanitation and computer education to rural folks. Villagelife is working, therefore, for the betterment of rural
lives; village by village. |

|
Our objectives |
1. Water and Sanitation
-
Each household will be equipped with a fresh running water connection.
-
Each household will be equipped with an underground sewage connection feeding into a sewage treatment plant.
-
Streets will be paved to eliminate unsanitary puddles.
|
|
2. Computers in schools
One computer will be given to
each grade/class room with a teacher. Computer literacy is the
least expensive way to bring rural children into the 21 st
century. |
|
3. Job Creation
With the infrastructure
facilities being established, we will be fulfilling basic
physical needs of the people. Some Jobs will be created along
with an environment for starting small scale enterprises. |
|
Our Strategy
|
|
Villagelife wishes to help those villages which want to help themselves. If the village folks are not committed to their own improvements, no one else can do the improvements for them. Villagelife aims to catalyse those villagers, including NRIs, who
want to improve their villages to join hands with each other in
conjunction with their NRI brethren and take the lead in the
betterment of lives in their own villages. |
