 PROGRESS TO DATE

  • Kharaudi 2000 to 2003

    • Basic facilities - every household connected with:-

      • fresh water

      • underground sewage system (including a treatment plant)

      • paved streets for cleanliness

      • solar street lights for night time lighting and security

      • computers in school with instructor for computer literacy, and hygiene

      • a village park with Pillar of Appreciation

  • 2004-05

    • BrahmPur in Ludhiana

  • 2006-07

    • Deengerian in Nawanshehr, Jian, Jandila, and Langeri in Hoshiarpur

  • 2007-08

    • Dohlron, Awam Ghore Shahin, Hoshiarpur

  • 2008-09

    • Kakkar in Amritsar

  • 2009- 10 Guru ki Dhab in Faridkot, Narur in Kapurthala

    • The above two additional villages are now under construction and there are about a dozen more villages in the pipeline

As this holistic model of basic facilities takes hold in Punjab,
VLIP plans to expand the program to other states in India.
